WHAT’S IN A DECK?
Each player builds a custom deck consisting of:
- Character Cards: Each has unique abilities, attack, and defense points.
- Support Cards: One-time-use cards that provide game-changing effects that turn every battle to your favor.
To begin a battle, each participating player must have an equal number of cards — a minimum of 10 cards, with at least 5 character cards in their respective decks.

THE BATTLE ZONE
SaW Trading Card Game is played in a battle zone, where players summon character cards, unleash tactical support cards and outmaneuver opponents in a competitive combat.
- Deck Pile – Your shuffled deck sits here. You draw from this at the start of each turn.
- Player’s Hand – Cards in your hand, unseen by your opponent. You start with 5 and add 1 per turn.
- The Zone – The battlefield where your active cards combat one another, comparing attack, defense stats and special effects in play.
- The Graveyard – Your discard pile. All used cards go here. They cannot be retrieved unless a special effect allows it.

GAME SETUP
- Shuffle your deck. Each player starts with their customized deck shuffled. Both decks should have an equal number of cards.
- Draw 5 cards. Each player begins with 5 cards in hand. If you don’t have a Character Card, show your hand then reshuffle and redraw.
- Flip a coin to g, the other player will be in defense.
TURN STRUCTURE
Draw Phase
Draw 1 card from your deck and put it in your hand.
Play Phase
- Choose one Character Card and place it in play face down.
- (Optional) Play an additional Support Card to enhance your move for maximum impact.
Battle Phase (ATK vs DEF)
Both players reveal their cards at the same time.
Both players compare attack and defense points.
- Higher ATK wins → Defender’s Character Card, along with the support card in play, are discarded to the Graveyard.
- Higher DEF wins → Attacker’s Character Card, along with the support card in play, are discarded to the Graveyard.
- Support Cards can boost ATK or DEF but only one per round. After each turn, the Support Card is discarded to the Graveyard.
End Phase
- Winning Character Card may stay in play and return to the player’s hand.
- All defeated cards are discarded to the Graveyard, unless a special effect states otherwise.
- The next player begins their turn.
WINNING THE GAME
Every move counts. The game ends when:
- Your opponent runs out of Character Cards to summon and can no longer challenge their opponent.
- Your opponent exhausts their deck, with no cards left to draw at the start of their turn.
The remaining player is declared the victor!
